What to include in a correction request

The standards on this site are drawn from published regulations, and corrections are the most useful messages we receive. If a figure disagrees with the official publication, include the service or role, the specific value you believe is wrong, and the document you are reading it from, ideally with the table or paragraph reference. That is enough to check the claim against the primary source rather than against another secondary summary.

For anything else, a short message is easier to act on than a long one. If a calculator returned a result that looks wrong, send the inputs you used and what you expected to see instead, and mention the browser if the problem might be device-specific. If you are reporting a broken link or a page that will not load, the page address saves a round trip.

A note on individual questions

This site explains how the published standards work. It cannot tell you how your own measurement will be treated, whether a specific medical condition qualifies, or what your unit will decide. For those questions the right contacts are your command, a recruiter, a credentialed healthcare provider, or an accredited veterans service representative. Messages asking for an individualized determination will be answered with a pointer to the relevant publication rather than with advice, because that is the honest answer.

Response expectations

Messages arrive in an inbox rather than a ticketing system, and each one is read. Legitimate inquiries normally receive a reply within a few business days, while a correction that needs checking against a primary source can take longer because the check itself takes time. Your address is used only to answer you, and the contents of your message are never published or passed to a third party.
